Study at CDCE
The CDCE operates under circular provisions laid down in the UGC circular no. 932 and by laws of the University. Accordingly, functions under a Director who is responsible to the Vice Chancellor. There are three Deputy Directors manning the three divisions, namely, registrations and examinations, learning resources, and training. The academic and administrative decisions are implemented by the Boards of Studies and the Management Committee with the approval of the Senate and the Council of the University.

Bachelor of Science (General) Degree enables the students to pursue their studies in the fields of science and technology and build a career based on this field.

Bachelor of Science (General) Degree enables the students to pursue their studies in the fields of science and technology and build a career based on this field. Course content of this program is focused on developing the analytical and mathematical skills. This programme offered by the Faculty of Science is designed for students who want to continue their degree part-time. Usually the programme is conducted during weekends and the duration of the degree programme is three years.
Principle subjects offered in this course are;
- Applied Mathematics (AMAT)
- Computer Science (COSC)
- Computer Studies (COST)
- Pure Mathematics (PMAT)
- Statistics (STAT)
A pass in one sitting, in a minimum of three approved subjects in the Science stream, including Pure-Mathematics, Applied Mathematics at the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) Examination conducted by the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka is required for registration in the BSc program.
